In natural healing there’s one primary reason why you may have dizziness, vomiting and nausea during menstruation – your colon and/or liver are backed up.
That’s because what can’t go down must come up, or feel like it has to come up. And if no additional food can go down, then your body’s message is to make you feel nauseated so you won’t overwhelm yourself with toxins or foods you can’t handle.
That’s a concept many medical doctors don’t understand, so they’ll continue prescribing nausea medication and continue telling you to eat. All this does is suppress the symptom of nausea before your period, and may even cause diarrhea.
Although you may get nausea relief from a medication, you won’t get permanent relief and the problem will return each and every month until you take care of it as you should.
Herbal Remedies For PMS Nausea are Organ Cleanses
Herbal medicine would start with a colon cleanse, or in a nausea emergency, a colonic. This will move some of the contents of the colon out of the colon, allowing you to eat more food. Some people who have a colonic empty out eight or more meals worth of digested food, and the big question is this: why were they still in there? Why was the colon not working in the first place?
You can most likely trace your PMS and nausea and even vomiting to a clogged colon in over 80% of the time.
Your herbal treatment could be an anti nausea herbal remedy, but this is not the correct choice of herbs to use. Sure, it will get your body to stop feeling the nausea, but it doesn’t address the real problem: the colon. We didn’t even get to the liver part of the equation, as a backed up liver is certainly going to cause nausea.
A colon cleanse usually contains four or five herbs, such as slippery elm, boldo, senna, peppermint, aloe vera, fennel, and psyllium. Usually the herbs are in capsule form and then you take one to two capsules at the end of a meal. Some formulas also may be found in tincture form or glycerin form.
Only after your colon is working can you start adding the liver cleanse. The word ‘working’ means having a bowel movement after each meal of the day. You should be just like an infant who eats and then has a bowel movement. Once this regularity is established, your liver can begin to feel a bit of relief, too.
An anti nausea herbal remedy for the liver may contain artichoke, milk thistle, Oregon grape root, bearberry, aloe vera, chanca piedra, or other herbs that help the cells of the liver clean themselves out. It also comes in capsules and/or tinctures that may be added to water. Tinctures may be added to hot water to make an herbal tea out of them. It’s taken at the end of a meal, one to two capsules per meal. Usually someone is on the colon cleanse for about a week before adding the liver cleanse. Both formulas are taken for six weeks.
Herbal medicine works well to stop nausea and upset stomach during the period but don’t wait until PMS sets in. Start the colon cleanse first right after your period ends (or whenever you get it), then add the liver cleanse so that you can be using some of the best herbs long before your next period starts.
What to Do Besides Herbal Cures For Nausea From Period
If you use herbal medicine, don’t forget your period vitamin. Your period vitamin will also contain vitamins, minerals and herbs used for menstrual nausea. It’s possible that specific deficiencies of vitamins and minerals can cause nausea as well. It can’t possibly contain all the herbs for a colon cleanse and a liver cleanse, but it will contain herbs meant to support the reproductive tract. Let’s face it; everything anyone could possibly need can’t be in a period vitamin; it won’t fit.
Between herbal cleanses and the period vitamin, you should see significant differences in your PMS in a few months.
