Feeling light headed and dizzy is no fun at all, and if it’s happening to you during your period, it’s time to find a solution. Many women ask is dizziness a symptom of PMS, and in some women it may be.
Dizziness or lightheadedness is not a common symptom of PMS. Sometimes the dizziness is not alone; a woman may be nauseous and dizzy at the same time. And meanwhile, she is suffering from the dizziness during her period.
What Causes PMS Dizziness? There can be several causes of PMS dizziness:
1. You hit your head on a car roof while getting out of the car and it knocked your vertebrae in your spine out of alignment. Don’t discount this cause of PMS dizziness; it happens a lot. Until your neck gets back into alignment you will continue to feel lightheaded and even nauseous. The answer here of course is to get a chiropractic adjustment.
2. You have a vitamin B6 deficiency. B6 deficiency symptoms include dizziness and nauseous. For example, when a woman is pregnant, the morning sickness is a clear sign she needs more vitamin B6.
3. You are lightheaded because you have low blood sugar. You didn’t eat regular meals, or the meals you did eat are ones that have a high glycemic index and cause a crash of your blood sugar levels about an hour to an hour and a half later after finishing the meal.
4. Someone has a brain tumor. Brain tumors can cause unexpected dizziness, staggering while walking, problems with thinking and concentrating, and often have other strange symptoms such as maybe hearing high pitched sounds when they really aren’t in the environment (they are heard within the head.).
4 Natural Cures for PMS Dizziness
If you’re looking for ways how to stop PMS dizziness, determine what your cause of the dizziness is first. Then determine what the solution will be. You don’t have to be a medical doctor to do this.
1. If you hit your head or had a head injury a while ago and continue to have dizziness, go see a chiropractor. Don’t think you can adjust your neck on your own. One of my patients was hit in the head when a bathroom door slammed into her, and she had dizziness and migraines ever since. Once she finally got treatment from a chiropractor, the situation resolved totally on its own.
2. If you have a vitamin B6 deficiency, take an extra 100 mg vitamin B6 daily in the form of a B complex vitamin. This way you won’t deplete all the other B vitamins should you decide to unwisely take vitamin B6 on its own. The B complex should have 100 mg vitamin B1, B2, and B6 in it as well as 100% of the folic acid and biotin. Usually if these are correct, the rest of the supplement ratios between the nutrients will be good.
3. If you are lightheaded because you aren’t eating regular meals, you already know the solution. Stop being stubborn and eat regular and healthy meals. Why prolong your health and why prolong your PMS symptoms?
4. If you have a brain tumor, you must see your doctor. There’s no natural cure for this type of PMS dizziness unless you count divine healing.
